[E100 Alert] Join us for the
KMEurope2004 - Special E100 Dinner
Dear E100:
You've heard all about
Barcelona...and I DO hope you will join us there - especially for the
OPEN Forum on November 15th. Be sure to register at www.KCObservatory.net!
However, we have discovered along the
way, how many of the E100 are ALSO planning to be in Amsterdam for KMEurope2004.
Tomasz Rudolf (Poland) and Yvonne
Buma (The Netherlands) have agreed to host a Dutch-treat dinner on
Tuesday, November 9th at a restaurant in downtown Amsterdam. This
would be for E100 members as well as any business partners or clients
who might be attending the conference. All we need to know is if you
are planning on being there, interested in participating and how many
might be included. Please send your reservations directly to Tomasz
Rudolf.
In the meantime, check out the
conference itself...
3 out of the 6 keynotes are E100 experts:
Leif
Edvinsson
|
Adjunct
Professor of Intellectual Capital at Lund University,
Inspirator and CEO of Universal Networking Intellectual
Capital, Global Knowledge Nomad and Winner of the prestigious
Brain of the Year Award in 1998, Leif Edvinsson is the world's
leading expert on intellectual capital (IC). As former Vice
President and the world's first corporate director of
intellectual capital at Skandia in Stockholm, Sweden, Leif was
a key contributor to the theory of IC and oversaw the creation
of the world's first corporate Intellectual Capital Annual
Report. Leif was also Senior Vice President for Training &
Development of S.E. Bank, and President and Chairman of
Consultas AB, a Stockholm-based consulting company. In March
1997, both Leif & Michael S Malone launched the book
Realizing your Company's True Value by Finding its Hidden
Brain Power. Edvinsson follows in the footsteps of the
illustrious former Brain of the Year winners such as Garry
Kasparov (World Chess Champion), Professor Stephen Hawking and
the Poet Laureate, Ted Hughes. In 2000, Leif was also listed
in the top 20 of Most Admired Knowledge Leaders in the world.
Leif will be examining
knowledge navigation now and in the future and providing
answers to the following questions. Where is value being
created; inside or outside the enterprise, the city, the
country or the region? What kind of map will give you the
intelligence for sustainable earnings? What kind of arena or
exchange platform can be used for the flow and cultivation of
knowledge development? How can the city be an intelligent
arena for IC productivity?

Karl
Erik Sveiby
|
Frequently
described as one of the founding fathers of KM, Karl-Erik
Sveiby's involvement in the field stretches back almost 20
years. As owner of one of Sweden's largest publishing
companies, Karl-Erik recognized the
need to measure intangible assets and pioneered accounting
practices to do this, testing them in his own company. In 1989
he published the results in his book The Invisible Balance
Sheet, in which he proposed a theory for measuring intangible
assets. This approach has since been adopted by a large number
of organizations.
Karl-Erik has an
extraordinary passion for knowledge management. Having worked
in the field for almost 20 years, his enthusiasm for the
discipline and belief in its immutable value to the modern
organization remain undiminished. His approaches are
practical, because unlike many experts Karl-Erik has
implemented his concepts in his own company. He does not
believe in lectures as methods of transferring knowledge so he
develops tools, methods and simulations, which are used by
consultants, corporations
and governments world-wide.
Karl-Erik will ask some
difficult questions of collaboration namely, what is its
business value and, beyond anecdotal evidence, how much value
does it add? In an environment where competitive behavior has
consistently proven its worth in producing value, Karl-Erik
asks why should collaborative behavior be more effective?

In addition, there
are other E100 with visible roles in the congress or nearby
Conferences:
The October Issue
of Knowledge Management magazine carries our article: 'In
the Knowledge Innovation Zone".
This leads us to the related website
cited in the recent worldwide E100
Alert announcement.
And so, there is more than enough
reason for those who plan to be in attendance to link up with other
ENTOVATION colleagues.
Who knows might come of some
purposeful conversations?
Let us know if you are en route to
Amsterdam!
